Concept design

I enjoy getting to create concept designs or “passion projects” in my free time to expand on my design skills and showcase what I am able to do. Below are some examples of concept designs I have completed. Click on any image to enlarge.

Pabst Blue Ribbon Can Design

I have always had an interest in package design and was fortunate enough to take a special topics class on it in college. A dream of mine is to design beer cans for breweries of any size. Living in a very heavy craft beer industry, I have learned to appreciate the art of brewing beer and I know how important it is to have a can design that works perfectly with what is inside the can. This design above was created for Pabst Blue Ribbon’s can design contest for 2021. While PBR is a great beer for year round, it is lighter and best enjoyed in warmer weather. I created a fun floral design in their branding colors that didn’t feel too feminine while also reminding consumers of warmer weather.

Music has always been an important part of my life. I have been to over 150 shows ranging from small local concerts with less than 100 people in the audience to 3 day music festivals. Mt. Joy is one of my favorite bands and when they were having a merchandise design contest, I had to jump on the opportunity! While I have designed apparel before, I have never had the opportunity to do it for musicians. Mt. Joy is a very fun and mellow alternative rock band offering flowing vibes in a lot of their music. I thought this whimsical octopus fit well with the aesthetic of the band.
